Small black spots are left on the ground under my car. Can’t find leak, what do I do?
I have 1970 ford Mustang with a 351 windsor. Whenever I park it, it leaves small black marks underneath the engine, but whenever I look underneath, I can’t find any leaks. Any ideas on what could be leaking?
Certianly a minor oil leak. Old cars often have minor leaks around the oil pan. Depends on how much leaks per day.
Do you have to add oil often? Try puting clean carboard underneath when you park for the night and see how much accumilates. A few drops is not worth looking for.
Does it leak when not drive to heat up the engine?
You can take it to a car wash, spray underneath and try and degrease around the pan. Park and get a good location using the card board.
