Getting dog odor out of laundry, blankets?
Hi all. Trying to get dog smell out of clothes & blankets. I’ve tried several commercial odor removers (Unique Pet Odor & Stain Eliminator, Tide w/Febreze, OxyClean in various forms), but nothing has worked. Have read suggestions left earlier on YA as well. Hubby has suggested using Pine-Sol in wash, claims his mother used this successfully. Can’t ask, as she’s deceased. Any suggestions? Many thanks.
I use Borax, along with my detergent and allow the load to soak for at least 15-20 minutes… works on all fabrics including fine….. For bedding and towels I do use 3/4 cup Pine Sol(funny you mention it), it works great on the sheets that have dog hair and smell, but be careful with it on fine fabrics as it does have a solvent in it. Borax is cheap and helps the detergent(like the Oxyclean but cheaper),
